The
Faith of Atheism & Christianity
How
was the universe created?
The
answer science (atheism) has is that there was a big bang.
God
says that He did it.
Let's
look at each of these:
What
was the big bang?
In
the beginning all of the matter in the universe was compressed into
a ball smaller than a marble. This "marble" was spinning
very fast. It couldn't stay together and it exploded in the BIG
BANG which created all of the galaxies, solar systems, stars, our
planet and us.
The
dirt under your feet was in that original "marble".
So
where did that dirt, and everything else in that original spinning
"marble" come from? Until recently scientists said it
came from a previous universe that had collapsed in on itself. That
guess no longer works because they found that our universe will
continually expand. It will not collapse back into a marble, so
there is no repeating cycle.
So
where did that original "marble" come from?
The
answer is, we don't know. We have to take it on faith that there
was an original spinning "marble" and that there was a
Big Bang.
Here's a scientific fact. If a spinning object
breaks up, the pieces that fly off all will be spinning in the same
direction as the original object was spinning. This results in a
BIG problem with the big bang. We see planets and moons in our solar
system that a rotating backwards and are traveling in backward orbits.
We see galaxies that are spinning "backwards". If the
big bang guess was true, this could not happen.
To believe in the big bang requires a strong
faith that is blind even to the scientific evidence we can observe.
God
Made The Universe
In
the Bible we have an eyewitness report of how the universe was created.
God did it in six days.
He
did not use a big bang and billions of years to create the universe.
For example, if you look at the order of creation in Genesis you'll
find that it is the opposite of the order of creation required by
the big bang. The two are not compatible.
Why
do moons, planets and galaxies spin "backwards"? Maybe
God made them that way just so you and I would know the big bang
was not true. So we would know that God's word is to be trusted,
not fallible man's wisdom.
